Oklahoma City noise rock quartet Chat Pile returns with Cool World, a new 10-track album out October 11 via Flenser, following their 2022 album God's Country. Besides being the name of a largely forgotten (and rejected) 90s film, Cool World is a fitting title for Chat Pile's second full-length album. The title is steeped in a sinister double meaning, evoking not only imagery of a dying planet but also a progression from the band's last album, broadening the scope of their portrayal of modern malaise from "God's Country" alone to encompass all of humanity.
