From Petrarch to Shakespeare" From November 25, 2023 to February 25, 2024. Pau Castle welcomes nearly 100,000 visitors each year, approximately eighty percent of whom are tourists. Three-quarters of these visitors are adults, mostly French, but Spanish and Anglo-Saxon visitors have also been frequenting the monument regularly for a long time. The public services department, created in 2000, and the reception service strive to offer everyone, whether individuals or members of a group, French or foreign, a suitable visit. There are now several ways to discover the castle and the museum collections. In addition to general guided tours of the museum, short, lively, and fun discovery tours are offered throughout the year: specific tours, a playful approach to the collections focusing on the history of the castle and its holdings; thematic tours, a one-hour exploration of a specific topic illustrated by the castle's history; and private tours, outside of public opening hours. For its ever-growing audience, the museum offers a wide range of fun activities for all ages, inspired by current museum events or the calendar of festivals.
