It was created in 2017 by the production company uGo&Play and placed under the musical direction of Nicolas Simon.<br> The Yellow Socks Orchestra participates in numerous film concerts throughout France: Jurassic Park, ET the Extra-Terrestrial, La La Land, Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, Azur and Asmar, The Chorus... and the Harry Potter film saga.<br><br> Recently, the orchestra played the music of the great Michel Legrand (who had conducted the orchestra in 2017 for the 50th anniversary of The Young Girls of Rochefort) on the occasion of the world premiere of the film concert of The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, and that of Bruno Coulais for the film concert of Microcosmos, both shows took place at the Philharmonie de Paris.<br><br> Under the exceptional direction of Joe Hisaishi, the Yellow Socks Orchestra also performed - with 250 musicians on stage - the most beautiful music from the universe of Hayao Miyazaki (Studio Ghibli).<br> It was also conducted by the American composer, Justin Hurwitz, during four full performances of the La La Land film concert at the Grand Rex in Paris.<br><br> The orchestra also plays programs highlighting the works of renowned composers such as John Williams and Hans Zimmer, who have given us unforgettable film scores, but also artists from the world of manga and anime with Manga Symphonic Odyssey.<br><br> Since 2018, talented choir members have expanded this ensemble under the name Yellow Socks Choir, they have accompanied the orchestra on numerous film concerts but also Joe Hisaishi and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of London on the occasion of the two sold-out concerts of the Japanese composer at Paris La Défense Arena in April 2024.</p><p> uGo&Play and the Yellow Socks Orchestra support the Philharmonicoeur project.</p>
