The ABC Book by Boris Vian and Lucienne Vernay

A jubilant concert show for children! The brilliance and impertinence of Boris Vian are there, playing with letters, words and music.

What could be more necessary and essential than learning the alphabet?
Characters appear on stage disoriented: they have lost their memory and don't even know their own names! Their quest for their names will lead them on a whimsical and surreal journey through the alphabet, reminiscent of Vian, singing, playing, and experiencing adventures with the children. Before our very eyes, they will rediscover their names, their memories, and the reason for their presence on stage!

“A jubilant concert-show for children! The brilliance and irreverence of Boris Vian are on full display, playing with letters, words, and music. Playfulness permeates every moment of this story, in which three characters embark on a quest to rediscover their forgotten names. They infuse the alphabet with poetry, challenge the established order, and have a wonderful time doing so. The short songs by Boris Vian and Lucienne Vernay, re-orchestrated by the group Debout sur le Zinc, provide an opportunity to blend a multitude of instruments and vocal styles. A concert to recommend to children of all ages.”
