Louise Debaecker: Ayres

Louise takes you into a universe where these Renaissance melodies, John Dowland's "Ayres" and contemporary electronic textures respond to one another.

Throughout history, we sing songs. For a loved one, for someone lost, to keep alive a time dreamed of or bygone. It's neither new nor recent, but ancient and powerful because it's the expression of the human condition. "Ayres" breaks down the boundaries of time and eras, plunging us into a unique musical universe where the "Ayres"—those melodies by John Dowland, jewels of the Renaissance—converse with the bold sounds of our time, the textures of electronic music, and the colors of improvised music. Instruments from different eras blend and respond to one another, creating a sonic space where past and present merge into a unique experience.

Launched in 2012, the #JazzDeDemain program initiated a series of monthly and bimonthly residencies. This framework offers young artists a valuable opportunity to experience performing, refine their repertoire, and present it to the public. This dynamic and inspiring initiative celebrates boundless creativity. #BeCurious!
