Open every day except Tuesday, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Closed January 1st, May 1st, and December 25th. Due to renovations, the galleries are only 50% open; the reduced rate applies. Tickets are valid for two years from the date of purchase. Free admission for those under 26, the unemployed, those receiving social welfare benefits (RSA, ASS, minimum old-age pension), art history students, people with disabilities, and war veterans. The Bronze Age in France 2300 - 800 BC From June 13, 2025 to March 9, 2026 This exhibition, the result of a collaboration between the National Archaeology Museum (MAN), the National Institute for Preventive Archaeological Research (Inrap), and the Association for the Promotion of Research on the Bronze Age (APRAB), shows how the evolution of metallurgy accompanied, both symbolically and culturally, the profound upheavals in Western European society. This period transformed France into a crossroads of cultures. One of the largest archaeology museums in Europe. A site rich in history. The Château de Saint-Germain-en-Laye was a former royal residence and the birthplace of several sovereigns. Restored by Eugène Millet from 1862 onwards at the initiative of Napoleon III, it now houses the National Antiquities Museum, which became the National Archaeology Museum in 2005. A leading institution for archaeology, the museum presents world-class archaeological collections tracing human life in France from its origins to the year 1000, from the Paleolithic world to the Merovingian era. Adjacent to the castle, the National Estate offers an exceptional panoramic view of the Île-de-France region. Just 30 minutes from Paris, it boasts 45 hectares of gardens and a 1,945-meter-long terrace designed by André Le Nôtre. One of the largest archaeological museums in Europe, the castle at Saint-Germain-en-Laye is a site rich in history. It was a former royal residence and the birthplace of numerous members of the royal family. Restored by Eugène Millet starting in 1862 by order of Napoleon III, it became home to the Musée des Antiquités Nationales, which in turn became the Musée d'ArchéologieNationale in 2005.As an archaeological institution of some importance, the museum displays internationally significant archaeological collections tracing human life in France from its origins to the year 1000, covering everything from the Palaeolithic era to the Merovingian times.Neighboring the castle, the Domaine National offers an exceptional panoramic viewpoint over theÎle-de-France.
