Faraëkoto
To bookDescription
Faraëkoto is a choreographic piece performed by 2 hip-hop dancers that invites us to reflect on our relationship with disability.
Faraëkoto is a play loosely inspired by the Malagasy folktale "Ifaramalemy Sy Ikotobekibo" (itself inspired by Hansel and Gretel and Little Thumb).

Unable to help their parents with the farm work, Fara and Koto are abandoned in the forest. She, "the sister, had limp legs," and he, "the brother, couldn't speak." But these "different" beings will gradually realize that they can be free bodies, capable of exploring the world and their own bodies. Blending hip-hop dance, text, and video, Faraëkoto immerses us in a tender and moving choreographic tale that invites young and old to marvel together.

"A visually stunning and poetic piece, full of fluidity and grace. A dream that celebrates difference."
The Terrace
