Then, near Place Sainte-Opportune, you will discover, perhaps with a touch of fear, the narrow and dark Rue Courtalon, where, long ago, in the time of the Sun King, a sinister affair took place. A little further on, in the heart of the Rue de la Ferronnerie, you'll learn how the "Vert Galant" (the "Green Gallant") met his end... Your unusual guided tour will conclude at the astrological and astronomical tower of Catherine de Medici, also known as the Black Queen. Legend has it that even today, on stormy nights, the ghost of the queen's magician returns to haunt the Tower...
