With their new album, Protégé.e, the two brothers of Terrenoire map out, in 14 tracks, a world of incandescent light and shadow, where concern for others reigns. For six years, Terrenoire have been working their music like a sensitive and eruptive landscape, made of electronic and organic textures, lyrics like clues, both direct and subtle, and melodies that linger long after the credits roll. Les Forces Contraires, the first album by Théo and Raphaël Herrerias (Black Paradiso label, 2020), brought them to the attention of French audiences. Named Revelations of the Year at the 2022 Victoires de la Musique awards, and after a 120-date tour, they organized their own festival in 2023 in Terrenoire, a working-class neighborhood of Saint-Étienne where they grew up and with whom dialogue remains vital.
